Trenemone, (Tree Anemone), is a name the explorers gave to a species of sedentary life-form dwelling in the forests of the Otherworld. The Germani call it a kugelpfauen, (or peacock ball), due to its brilliant turquoise, yellow, and green patterned feathery appendages. It hangs from branches, trunks, and rocks like an air plant, giving it some degree of protection from its few natural predators. The trenemone, while stationary and plant-like in appearance, is actually an animal, and a predator at that. At the center of the fronds is a beak protruding from its small, compact body. It utilizes visual and olfactory psychic messaging to lure small prey into its waiting gullet. However, it should be noted that the trenemone will lure prey many times its own size.
