Ragnarkeld is a small but influential Norse civilization west of Desmos’s central mountain chain, commonly known as The Great Mountains. Ragnarkeld is technically a monarchy, ruled by its jarl, Ragnar; however, the town is greatly guided by tradition and public sentiment. They are highly distrustful of outsiders, with the exception of their smaller protectorate chiefdoms.

Due to its remote location, its limited resources other than arable land, and its natural fortification by the mountains and river, Ragnarkeld is an unfortified settlement, home to roughly two-hundred individuals. The people of Ragnarkeld are famous for their use of tamed wooly rhinoceros in their calvary, a dangerous practice that they have perfected over the years, giving them a tremendous advantage on the battlefield. Furthermore, their warriors’ unpredictable natures make confrontations with Ragnarkeld undesirable.
