Germania, pronounced (ger-mon-ee-ah), is a fortified German settlement west of Desmos’s central mountain chain and east of the Great River. Germania’s inhabitants, the Germani, are humans from the late 19th Century and early 20th Century German Empire who settled Desmos in secret to get the upper hand on earth’s dominant colonial powers at the time. Germania initially began as an agrarian settlement; however, raids from the “Druden”, the Germani’s word for goblins, forced them to temporarily shift towards a hunter gatherer society. Germania’s relationship with its neighbors, especially Ragnarkeld, is poor, but conflict is limited due to vast spaces amongst settlements and very low populations. Germania is highly influential in the region because of its technological edge, namely its firearms and electrical generation. For these reasons, the Ggollek Empire found itself unable to uproot the small woodland civilization.
